How CWC Pricing Works

CWC Price Formula

The EPA sets CWC prices using a two-part formula. The price is the higher of:

1. CPI-Adjusted Floor: $0.25 × (Current CPI ÷ 2007 CPI)
2. Ceiling Formula: $3.00 - Current Gasoline Price

When CWCs Are Cheaper

CWCs become more attractive when gasoline prices are low (making the ceiling formula cheaper) or when D3 RIN prices are high. This calculator gives you the exact breakeven point.
